The Icelandic Scout Association invites scouts and guides from all around the world to the National Jamboree, held at Hamrar, Akureyri, July 20–26, 2026. The theme of the jamboree is “Due North”, promising unforgettable adventures in Iceland’s unique nature.
The National Jamboree gathers over 2,000–3,000 scouts and guides from about 20 countries. Each scout/guide group builds its own campsite where participants live together for a full week. This is a unique opportunity for scouts/guides aged 10–17 to make new friends, take on new challenges, and step outside their comfort zone.
At the Jamboree, a true world of adventure comes alive. Scouts/guides gain valuable experiences that strengthen leadership skills, creativity, and teamwork. Living in nature, they find a deeper connection with the environment and themselves, while building confidence, responsibility, and knowledge.
The program is diverse and exciting, including:
Games
Hikes
Camp life
Town visit
Challanges and team tasks
Evening campfires
Night games
…and much more from morning to night!
